Camera will not turn on

I dropped my camera about 4 feet. Now it does not turn on. The preview option still works, but it will not turn on when the on/off switch is pushed....

Canon A1000IS

My computer recognized my camera yesterday and now it won't today. I have reloaded the driver and it still won't recognize the camera. does anyone know anything that can help?...
