Playstation 3 and RGB cables

I just bought a Playstation 3 and I'm trying to hook it up so I can get HD on it. The TV is HD ready but I can only get standard settings to work. What gives?...

NO PICTURE???!

When we turn this TV on in Iraq, the picture fails to come on and there is no screen showing or anylight- There is however an orange blinking light that flashes 3x times on the lower left hand corner (where it usually indicates the TV has turned on)....

No Color

I heard a pop noise and the the picture went away. So I no longer have a picture but I can still hear whatever is on...
